## About this dataset

A Data Fidelity Register containing verified facts about OpenClassrooms, extracted from publicly available source documents. Each fact is published as an atomic record with a descriptive label, a value, a verbatim quote from the source document, a URL pointing to that source, and a SHA-256 cryptographic seal computed over the six-field set {context, label, source_url, time_period, unit, value}, canonicalised per RFC 8785 (JCS).

The seal allows independent verification that a record has not been altered since publication. The set of entry seals is committed to a single release commitment, a Merkle root computed per RFC 6962. The release digest is signed and anchored in a public transparency log (Sigstore Rekor, operated by the Linux Foundation), providing third-party-verifiable evidence that the dataset existed in its published form at a specific moment in time. Each release references its predecessor, so additions never restate history. Prior releases remain retrievable under https://ledger.openclassrooms.com/releases/. ## Fidelity principle

This register attests fidelity to cited sources, not the truth of those sources: each entry reflects the document it cites. The publisher does not audit the truth of the source documents themselves.

## Sourcing and attribution

Each record carries a source_url field pointing to the canonical source document for that fact. The source document is the appropriate citation for any given fact. The dataset is published by Apparat as a verified delivery layer; the underlying facts are attributable to their named sources.
